Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

For the last 2 days I have been hosting some return fishermen from N. Ms. I tell you its hard to go run way out there catching the quality fish we been putting on the WHIPASNAPA just 10 miles behind Horn Island. This crew wanted me to keep it a secret but hey when you book the 2 day gig ya get a complementary Crab an Shrimp boil.

Early Sat., around 4:30am to be exact, we headed over to play with some more close to SOW Red Snapper, an boy they pulled some good'uns up right off the bat. Had two fishing live bait an 2 fishing chunks of bonita. The big SOWS were hitting cut bait an some really nice Grouper were hitting the live bait, but man the grouper were all between 20 an 21 1/2 just short of the 22in.min. we pulled at least 7 up an none got the complementary ride home on the WhipaSnapa. limited on snapper fairly early stayed an played with some really large ones trying to get the keeper grouper all shy released several more nice snapper for fun.

Off to the shrimp boats to fight some bonita an jacks while we search for the cobia. Man most have a ball with these power houses especially when you tell them the Jacks are YellowFin Tuna. Boy you wrong for that. But man they had tighten the drags up pretty good to keep Jacks from getting to deep when all of a sudden a real nice Cobia come up an swallowed a chunk right on side the boat. With the line being so short it popped 80lb like it was 40. man. That was the only Cobia we seen, we decided to see if the bonita was eidable when we got home, an man that stuff eats pretty darn good 5 out of 5 liked.

Man the Casino got um for the Sun. run.we was suppose to run back, but noone could seem to get up. Boy they where sure mad when they finally did get up. But hey, they said they got enough in the one. They was a pleasure.
