Orlando Florida Area Saltwater Guide Fishing Report

The Nearshore fishing is off the chain.The past week we have been fighting
some of the Biggest Tarpon I have ever seen on the East Coast of Florida.
My Client today 10/6/2009 was Roger Clark of Texas, he could not believe his
eyes as the first Tarpon of the day tail walked into the side of the boat
before Roger could get the rod out of the rod holder.This Tarpon was
175 to 200 pounds and no match for Med Tackle as he spooled off 185 yards
of line in seconds.This fish broke off as we tried to chase him down.
We returned to the same area and put the baits back in the water and it
seemed like the sharks had taken over as Roger boated 3 or 4 Sand
and Spinner Sharks.Then Roger gets another Tarpon hooked and after a
couple jumps the fish comes unbuttoned.A few more Sharks and just as the
day was ending Roger has another 130 to 150 pound Tarpon tail walking
behind the boat.This fish makes a 10 foot air jump and comes off, just as
this Tarpon comes off the second rods gets slammed and this fish pulls off
before we get a look at him.We ended the day with 4 jumped
Tarpon between 125 and 200 pounds and a hand full of Sharks.
Roger will have a great fishing story to tell all his buddies back in Texas.
Free lining 6 to 8 inch live mullet has been working best for us the past week.

The Redfish at Ponce Inlet are on and off. Seems the last two hours of the
out going tide is best.I have heard reports of 20 to 30 fish per boat being
caught but I have not seen that myself during the past week.
