 Miami Charter Fishing Boat
The new Miami charter fishing boat has arrived. I received my new 34ft SeaVee with twin Verado’s late last week. I had the bottom painted this week and did my first trip with it today. The new boat is absolutely great. It is similar to the last one with a few minor changes.
The last Miami charter fishing boat was absolutely great and held up extremely well. This boat will surely do the same if not better. Everything on the boat is new including all the Furuno electronics and a new TR-1 autopilot. The motors are 2007 Mercury Verado 275 HP outboards. These motors are a bit stronger and a bit more fuel efficient than the previous year.

Now to the Miami fishing. Last week we had a few swordfish trips. The first trip we caught 3 out 4 swords. If you remember from my last report, this angler had sailfished with me earlier in the week and caught 6 out 9 sailfish and some dolphin. As you can see his luck continued with the swordfish. The biggest fish we caught that night was right around 160 pounds. The next night the conditions completely changed.
The wind had picked up, it was raining and the wind was out of the wrong direction. I encouraged my client to change dates as the conditions were not right, but he really wanted to go and unfortunately we never got a bite that night. If the captain tells you to change dates and that the conditions are not right, you should probably listen to him. After that, the wind blew and we lost some trips to weather.
As I said the new Miami charter boat arrived and after we got the bottom painted we went out and had a great day on the water catching sailfish, and some nice size kings. Our biggest king was about 25 pounds. I had a husband and wife and two sons that day. One of the sons had just returned from serving in Iraq and it was a pleasure to put him on some fish and as he said, it was great to be away from sand and to be on the water.
This week we had some more swordfish trips and one day trip. Hopefully the day trips will fill in as there has been some good action on sails, kings and dolphin, especially if we have any kind of wind. So go ahead and give me a shout and let’s set up that trip on my brand new SeaVee!
