Florida's Fillmans Bayou Getting RED HOT!! |
With the Gulf of Mexico water temperature dropping the redfish are getting into an early winter pattern. Warmer water creek outflows are attracting big reds at the creek mouths and in the creeks. As the water warms into the day the reds are allover the oyster bars. The water is clearing now and this makes for great sight fishing. This is a fly fisherman's dream. The winter tides must be watched closely because they are extream this time of year. The reds are jumping on my crab and shrimp patterns. As the waters on the flats and backcountry bayous warm, cast into the mangroves to get some huge snook right now. If you are unfamiliar with the famed Fillmans Bayou my best advise is hire a guide. The bayou is full of rocks and oyster bars that you won't see until it is too late. I provide fast action Sage rods to combat the wind. If you want to book a charter now is a great time. The shots at fish will go down but the quality of fish is outstanding.
