Pine Island Sound fishing report |
Hi, Capt Glenn Grimes reporting the fishing for the 17th - 24th of Feb.With the mild weather we have been having the fish have turned on finally. The bait has showed up and the fish are hitting the greenbacks now. Snook, redfish, seatrout are the main species that are being caught right now.My clients caught some nice redfish up to 27" last week also the seatrout have been biting on the same baits.Snook also been hitting but average size is down.I am waiting on a warmup for some larger fish to start hitting. The redfish have been doing really well fishing with popping corks with greenback minnows or pinfish on 16" of 30lb or 40lb leader and a 1/0 short shank live bait hook. Seatrout have been hitting on the afternoon tide when the water is at it's highest.I also have caught trout on the popping corks fished with greenbacks. The trout have been mixed sizes some small others are some nice ones over 20".Well that does it.Thanks Capt.Glenn |
