 SATURDAY, JUNE 27th
One of our good friends and client Mark Dunlop brought his friends Ed, Dudley and Doug from MS. to catch some Redfish, and CATCHING is what we did. We left Lafitte Harbor Marina at 6:00am and headed out for the Turtle Bay/ Little Lake area, in search of some hungry Redfish. Our first stop was a good idea, as I was busy tying on some gold spoons, we saw a nice Redfish waking right up to the boat, I grabbed a rod with a gold spoon on it and pitched it out in front of the red, and sure enough he hit it and ran, I handed it off to Ed and the fish managed to spit the hook at the boat. I finished tying the spoons on and put the trolling motor in, and bam! We had a red on, one keeper for the box. Not long after that we had a few more that landed in the fish box. We saw a few schools of 10 to 20 Redfish came down the bank and we hooked doubles and triples a few times. It did not take long for us to get our limit of 25 Redfish in the box. We caught and released another 15 or 20 Redfish that morning, all before 11:00am. We took a ride to another area we have been catching some really big redfish, only to boat 2 or 3 nice reds in the 26” to 27” range, that we released to fight another day. Another great day of catching Redfish and showing these guys New Orleans Fishing At Its Best!
