Maryland Fishing, Chesapeake Bay Fishing Report |
Today we welcomed Mr. Gregory Thompson and friends for a total of 12 anglers. Mr. T.J. Reiber of NOVA served as 1st Mate today (pictured on far left in group picture).
We started off by bottom fishing at Holland Point and caught a mess of small, medium, and Jumbo Norfolk “Slab” Spot. We saved the big Slabbers for the grill and the small ones for “volunteers” on our live lining adventure over at the super secret spot at James Island. At the secret spot we easily plastered waxed our limit of 14 obese Striped Bass (“Rockfish”) ranging from 19” – 24.5” (see below pictures) plus our boat fish. We also caught 15 Snapper Bluefish at this location.
Then we bottom fished at Cook’s Point in the mouth of the Choptank River and caught an assortment of respectable Slabbers, Atlantic Croaker (“Hardhead”), and nice White Perch. We also released several undersized Gray Trout (“Weakfish”) and Summer Flounder. We are moving a load of furniture down to our new home in N.C. tomorrow 10/29/2006), so we will have the day off from fishing. We will see you all back on The Bay on 10/30/2006.
