Outer banks N.C Fishing Reports |
Winter time fishing on the inshore scene tends to be slow down here however this year we have seen excellent winter fishing for redfish. These fish are traveling in schools that range in size from 25 fish to over 150 fish. These are the 5-10 pound fish that are not only fun to catch but delicious as well. I am catching most of these fish on soft plastics while throwing 8-10 pound spinning tackle. If your after the big reds in the 30-60 pound class they will start showing in late march and this bite will continue through June. This is sight fishing at it's finest!Hatteras, North Carolina still holds the world record for redfish and this was a 94 pound behemoth. Our fishing for all species will pick up in April and May and we will see trout, flounder, cobia, spanish mackeral and more. |
