Montana's Missouri River Fishing Report

Winter is here for another couple months. The Missouri River does fish well on warmer days, meaning the temperature reaches the 50F mark. Fishing out of Craig, MT., dredge the bottom of the stream, looking for slow tailouts and watch your indicator closely. The fish are somewhat lethargic and the takes are not what we would call aggressive. Anything red or pink near the bottom should suffice, making sure to wither move or change the fly if takes are not apparent. Might be better to stay home and tie up some flies until we get closer to March, or the weather holds at 45-50F for a week or so.
