Orlando FL Bass Fishing Guide Report

After watching it rain 15 inches in 4 days I made up my mind I was
going fishing today no matter what!!.I called a good friend and we made plans
to meet at the dock at 6 am That didn't work out because it was pouring
at 5:30 and looked like it wasn't going to stop anytime soon.

6:45 am the rain stopped and I called Hank back and said lets meet at 7:30 am
and the game was on.We have now had 16 inches of rain sense Sunday
and I figured the fish would be eating it up as the current would be on the move
in the main river. We checked a couple places without a bite and then we headed
to an area that I had caught a bunch of fish in last year when we had the big flood
after Topical Storm Faye dropped 27 inches of rain in three days.
This was the right move as Hank and I lost count of the number of fish we caught
but without a doubt we caught 40 in two hours and many in the 3 to 5 pound
range. If you remember from my reports last year after Faye passed through
on Aug 18th we were having 60 and 70 fish days.I even had a young man
age 9 by the name of William Spivey JR catch 37 fish up to 6 1/2 pounds
in 3 hours fishing before his Saturday football game at 1 pm.

We have been in a drought the past two months and the river has been very low.
It seems this will happen every couple years as mother nature takes her course.

Today Hank and I caught most of our fish on a Texas rigged worm in 5 ft of water
fishing the mouths of ditches along the main river. We also seen a few floating
trees and other debris so keep your eyes open as some of these trees were
really BIG!!!!! Sorry for not having any pictures of today's fish but there was just
to much rain to get the camera out.We packed it up early as the rain became
to much to bare but all in all it was much better the sitting in front of the TV
for the 5th day in a row!! I still have plenty of days open the last part of May
and a lot of days open in June.
