Fishing the Texas shrimp boats from Port Aransas Texas with Fun 4 All Deep Sea charters

Fishing the shrimping boats is always fun for both captains and clients. When the Texas shrimping season starts in july shrimp boats will be in close trawling during the day. At Fun 4 All Deep Sea Charters I become like a kid in the candy store. These things are like giant chum bags bringing in fish for mile and miles in one litte area. However I see boat after boat that goes right on by and never stop but when I see them at the talk I hear them gripe how bad the bite was. So I just laugh and unload my fish boxes with smiles. when fishing these shrimp boats one of my favorite ways is by trolling 2 rods will give you all you can handle use 40 pound test rig to a kingfish leader and a 3 oz egg sinker above the leader. Use a ribbon which is the candy of all kingfish baits. Troll the baits 50 yards behind the boat trolling should be done at 5-7 knots. make sure you zig zag you boat when trolling this causes bait to drop and pop making for more strikes.
Start by trolling the shrimp up rom behind since you will be trolling aster the the shrimp boat is trawling be sure to circle him and its almost a gauranted hook up. Around these it wont take long to limit out on the king and don`t be afraid to stop and thow out a few sharks baits if there is a few boats out. just be ready for some never ending runs from mr Blacktip shark that will reward you greatly with some fine steaks to grill.
