Fishing with the FLW boys out of Big Toho marina during a cold front was lees than pleasent. We started the morning flipping the north side of Cypress Cove (Toho), really clean water, great Cator grass flipping cover. We were somewhat productive, even though this was referred to as the nursery prior to the front b/c of the numbers of fish caught there. We then power fished (chatterbait/green pumpkin)the west wall of Toho from the power lines (west of Mackison Island) north to the immediate wall adjacent to Paradise Island, this is where the majority of the fish came from. At the mouth of Goblet's cove there is a large grass point on the southeast corner, just inside it there is open water that we power fished. My boater reported catching a 9#'er there in practice. A lot of boyz were fishing the hydrilla in the deeper water out in front of Red's Fish Camp/RV park on the east side of Toho including the winner of the event. As you enter Kissimmee from the river to the left (North side) there is a large spawning flat loaded with dollar pads, lily pads, and Kissimmee grass, usually a very productive spawn and post-spawn area, as is all of school Bus. As you exit the north side of the Pig Trail go straight across (north shore) to the pads and grass there, is where maybe 20 boats fished on day 2. |
