 TABLE ROCK LAKE FISHING REPORT
April 01, 2008
Water temperature: 52-54
Lake Level: 926.32
Fishing still pretty tough, the water level dropping each day. It is currently 10’ above normal. Continues to rain, another 3” –5” expected lake level should rise once again.
The river arms were starting to clear up with the debris settling down.
Fish are being caught on spinnerbaits in 3’-8’ of water around submerged bushes and trees. Chartreuse and white is working good on the spinnerbaits. Try some flipping tubes and jigs around the base of trees. The color or lure will depend on the water clarity. In heavily mudded areas use black/neon, black/blue or black/chartreuse. In the stained water try watermelon red flake, green pumpkin, or brown hues. Catching some smallmouths from the Baxter area to the Dam, fishing in 10’ –20’ with football jigs, Carolina rigs, or split shotting French fry worms. The best areas seem to be in the creeks on secondary points.
I think some of the fish are extremely shallow. They are just hard to get to because of the high water. As the water recedes it should pull some of these fish out to the edge of the bushes or tree lines.
