Tim's Ford 4-14-2008
It was a tough cold mid-April day today for Mr. Bill Brooks and me. Air Temperature was 39 degrees when we put in today and the surface temps had fallen almost 3 degrees. We caught 3 and missed 3 or 4 more in the first 2 or 3 hours and then everything died for us. Most of our fish came on a Prowler Soft Shad www.prowlerlures.com and a Rapala DT6 Crank Bait www.rapal.com Unless something changes I will be back on the water 3 more days this week and will keep you posted. I fished 4 hours today on Tim's with two great people Joseph and Shelly Durbak. The trip was in jeopardy almost from the beginning with huge super cell storm systems and tornado activity moving into middle Tennessee. I always say I like wind and today I had all I wanted. (30-35+mph) With the Smallmouth being on bed and the high winds I decided to key in on the Hybrids. With the cells moving in we started hitting areas where I have been on fish over the past several weeks. Joseph and Shelly put 5 Hybrid in the boat before the cell phone started ringing every few minutes telling us to get off the water. We are planning another run at this sometime in June for some early am top water action. . I look forward to the next trip. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com
